Team Chicken Little (2nd Runner Up)

NUS organised this competition to promote awareness of 3D printing (also known as Additive Manufacturing) technologies in the Material Science and Engineering sector. The theme for this year’s challenge was to design a glider to transport an egg.
Participants attended training and learned more about how 3D printing and engineering can ‘save the egg’. Winners were determined based on the distance transported and the survival of the egg. This was the first time RP had taken part in the challenge.
RP sent two teams for the competition. There were eight Year 2 students (4 from SEG, DIOM – ‘Chicken Little’; and 4 from SAS, DAC and DMTS – ‘Egglicious’). They are

The team ‘Chicken Little’ emerged as 2nd Runner-up amongst the 11 competing teams, achieving a glide distance of 10.92m. Students exhibited great spirit to complete CAD designs, trial prints, and testing during the RP Mid-Semester Assessment period.,
