New Biomedical Sciences Enhanced Internship for Polytechnics and ITEs

As part of the SkillsFuture initiative, the Biomedical Science Sector Co-ordination Team (BMS SCT) chaired by RP and comprising of polytechnic and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) representatives, drafted its internship programme enhancements. These included an increase in minimum internship duration from eight weeks to 16 weeks or more across all full-time courses.

The announced development of biomedical science job-centric key learning outcomes will allow institutions to better align programmes to meet the industry’s needs. A newly published internship guide will also enable companies to take a more proactive approach towards workforce development and skills training.
