Students from Republic Polytechnic’s (RP) Pharmaceutica Interest Group organised the first-ever I-Remember Carnival on 29 September 2018.
Organised in collaboration with Alzheimer’s Disease Association, Agency of Integrated Care, Lien Foundation, Population Health (Yishun Health) and Unity by FairPrice Singapore, this event aims to broaden Singaporeans’ understanding about the condition by educating them about the warning signs of Alzheimer’s, the importance of early detection and resources available to help them.
Members of the public participated in a series of activities, including talks on dementia and onsite basic health screening by Population Health, performances by RP Interest Groups, and informative booths by industry partners such as Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Unity by Fairprice, Alzheimer's Disease Association and Agency for Integrated Care.
As part of our efforts to encourage a dementia-friendly community, RP students organised the fun activities for the event. They were also paired with elderly citizens from senior care centres to participate in the activities.
Mayor of North West Community Development Council and Member of Parliament for Bukit Panjang Constituency Dr Teo Ho Pin was the Guest-of-Honour at the event.
