Applied Learning Modules

A Day in the Life of an Air Traffic Controller

Ever wondered what goes in an airport control tower? How aircraft take-off and land and know where to park?

This module provides an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an Air Traffic Controller in a simulated Air Traffic Control Tower. Students will be able to:

  1. Practice radiotelephony procedures between air traffic controllers and pilots for safe control of aircraft within the aerodrome

  2. Learn air traffic controller skills in an interactive and immersive game-based environment

  3. Role-play as Ground controller, Tower controller and Pilots, during aerodrome operations

This ApLM experience would help strengthen students’ passion for aviation via deepening their knowledge on the responsibilities of an Air Traffic Controller.
