The South East Asia Region IMechE Programme Logic Controller Design Competition 2021 took place on 10 July 2021. Organised by RP in collaboration with the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE), the competition saw a total of 29 teams from Singapore and Malaysia battling it out to create the best design using PLC software. 

With the aim of cultivating teamwork, imagination and analytical skills, the competition requires the participants to invent, design and turn their ideas into products under two categories: Degree and Diploma.

Two teams of students from the Diploma in Engineering Systems & Management (DESM) won the First and 2nd Runner Up prizes under the Diploma Category. They are:

In preparation of the competition, the students attended a hands-on workshop to gain some proficiency on a new software. The students were elated that they were able to put their new skills to good use and apply them during the competition.
