The Public Sector Transformation (PST) Awards is a Whole-of-Government pinnacle platform to recognize and reward public officers and public agencies for excellence in their work and organizational practices.

This year, we have Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Lecturer, Dr Huang Jingfeng, being awarded the Public Sector Transformation (Exemplary Service) Award on 21 October 2020. He had demonstrated excellent service and went the extra mile for his students. One example was when he willingly spent time outside of curriculum hours to understand the student’s needs. He ensured that students could get the help they needed so that they could continue to focus on their studies and build a strong foundation for further education and employment. His cheerful and sincere demeanour helped him reach out to his students effectively.

Jingfeng’s passion for teaching could be seen in his innovative pedagogies, as well as his collaborative efforts with external partners to implement programmes for the students. He initiated Final Year Projects and a school-level competition in collaboration with Marsiling-Yew Tee Town Council to connect Republic Polytechnic’s students with the neighbourhood. The project involved students solving issues faced by the residents such as noise, heated pipe water and fallen leaves.

“Excellence is a mind-set that propels us to put in our best in all the things we do, no matter big or small. It is also a habit and an attitude.”, quotes Dr Huang. Congratulations Dr Huang for his achievement!
