Building and Controlling Flying Machines

Have you ever wondered how aeroplanes fly? How are they controlled in the mid-air? Do you know the basic principles of aerodynamics can be related to what you have studied in physics? Are you interested or passionate about making your career in aviation industries? Here is an opportunity to explore your passion /career in the aviation industry by taking this module.

This module equips students with the principles of aerodynamics and aircraft systems to appreciate flight and how an aeroplane manoeuvre. Students taking this course will be taught how to build their own glider and flying drone. They will also be given the opportunity to test-fly the glider and drone while applying the theory of flight.

In addition, students will experience flying using our B747 flight simulator and have hands-on experience on actual aeroplanes and aircraft systems in the RP Hangar (the ARCH).
