Design, Build, and Control Underwater Robots

Do you have an interest in robotics? Can a robot work in an underwater environment? Robots can be deployed in many situations which may be too dangerous or inaccessible to humans. Robotics is a technology that encompasses computer science and engineering. Learning how to code and program a robot to perform task is important but someone has to design, construct and maintain the robot, right?

In this ApLM, students will be taught how to design, build and control an underwater robot.

Students will be given the opportunity to acquire troubleshooting skills including soldering techniques, interfacing with Electronic speed controllers (ESC) and wireless remote controllers which are commonly used in robotic application.

Through the process of prototyping their robots, students will be able to exercise design thinking, demonstrate analytical approaches to conduct testing and develop problem solving ability to meet the design specification with the end goal of product realisation.
