RP Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Centre participated in the annual TechX Asia 2017 showcase where over hundreds of technology enthusiasts, leading minds and innovators from all over the world congregate to share and learn about the latest technological trends.
Held on 6-7 September in the Suntec Convention Centre, the RP UAV Centre presented a topic on unmanned drone training and the importance of public safety, security and regulations, and how they can help UAV operators achieve their goals responsibly and safely. The Centre received many enquiries from commercial companies as well as government agencies such as Singapore Police Force on possible training collaborations.
The RP UAV Centre is a joint school initiative between School of Infocomm (SOI) and School of Engineering (SEG) with the support from School of Technology and the Arts (STA) and the Office of the Student and Graduate Affairs (OSG). It was officially opened on 5 January 2017 with a focus on UAV-related training, consultancy, and projects.
The Centre has currently trained close to 250 participants from various organizations such as Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), MediaCorp, Ministry of Communications and Information, Woh Hup Pte Ltd, and many others.
